Tom Cavanagh
Tom Cavanagh is a Canadian actor who has performed both on TV and feature films. Born as Thomas Cavanagh, he is best known for his role on the TV show ED, as the title character. Ed Stevens was a New York lawyer who, after a couple of setbacks in his personal and professional life, decides to relocate back to his hometown, the fictional Stuckeyville, Ohio. There, he catches up with his old friends, reignites his crush on a former high school class mate, and buys a bowling alley on a whim, where he opens up a law firm. Hilarity ensues as he attempts to woo Carol and deals with his staff's efforts to revive the failing bowling alley.His other TV credits include several guest star spots on Scrubs as the lead character's older yet immature brother, from 2002 to 2007; the soon cancelled Love Monkey with Jason Priestly of Beverly Hills fame in 2005; the television miniseries The Capture of the Green River Killer, based on a true story; another failed pilot called My Ex-Life; the TV movie Snow; the TV movie Alchemy with Sarah Chalke in 2005; yet another canceled show, Eli Stone in 2008; and in 2009 the drama Trust Me with Erick McCormack of Will and Grace, that one was cancelled as well. Tom Cavanagh also presents Stories from the Vaults on Smithsonian Networks.
Cavanagh has also had a career in feature films, mostly in supporting roles, such as Gray Matters with Heather Graham, and Two Weeks with Sally Field. He also appeared as the lead human character in the 2010 live action adaptation of the Yogi Bear. Cavanagh has had a Broadway career since the 1989 revival of the musical Shenandoah. He has also acted in other stage titles such as A Chorus Line, Cabaret, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Urinetown and Grease.
