Julie Bowen
Julie Bowen is a film and television actress known for her portrayals of Carol Vessey on ED, Denise Bauer on Boston Legal and claire Dunphy on modern Family, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award. On ED, she play the role of a high school English teacher and the romantic interest of the protagonist. Throughout the course of the series she dates several men and even becomes engaged to be married, but in the final season a relationship between Ed and Carol finally materialized, to the delight of the few but fervent fans of the show.Before that, she had appeared in the soap opera Loving; in an episode of Lifestories: Families in Crisis; Class of '96; Acapulco H.E.A.T; the TV movies Runaway Daughters and Where are My Children?; seven episodes of Extreme; Party of Five; Strange Luck; thirteen episodes of Three and nine episodes of E.R.; the television movie The Last Man on Planet Earth; Oh Baby and Dawson's Creek. After ED, she did a voice over for Justice League and participated in several episodes of the series Jake in Progress, Lost, Boston Legal, Weeds and Modern Family, as well as one-off appearances in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and True Jackson, VP.
As for Julie Bowen's film career, she made her debut on Five Spot Jewel in 1992. In 1996 she took part in Confessions of a Sleep Addict, followed by roles in the more well known Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler, and Multiplicity with Michael Keaton. The year 1997 saw her in An American Werewolf in Paris, while 2001 was more prolific with roles on You're Killing Me, Amy's Orgasm, Venus and Mars and Joe Somebody, with Tim Allen. Other credits include Kids in America, Partner(s), Sex and Death 101, Crazy on the Outside, Jumping the Broom, and the new Horrible Bosses.
